The Strawberry Industry

Strawberry production is a critical industry throughout Florida as well as southern and central Georgia. Likewise, the Piedmont and coastal plain regions of North Carolina and, to a lesser degree, the Pee Dee and Low Country regions (among others) in South Carolina play important roles.

Harplyn designs and installs Drip Irrigation Systems, primary and most water efficient irrigation method in strawberry production. It not only minimizes evaporation and water runoff but reduces foliar diseases in strawberries by keeping leaves dry. Likewise, its compatible with fertigation, the primary fertilization method in commercial strawberry production.

Beyond Drip Irrigation, some overhead sprinkler systems are used during the transplant period to prevent wilt and enhance the rooting process. Overhead sprinklers can also be helpful in the spring to protect blooms from frost/freeze damage.
