Land Leveling
Leveling agricultural land is essential to maximize production of this valuable resource. While the process is expansive, it typically involves shaping the land to achieve uniform slope, water distribution and conservation during irrigation as well as adequate and consistent drainage. Level farmland is also beneficial for safely operating tillage and harvest equipment. Importantly, it supports precision farming and GPS-guided operations.
Beforehand, however, we carefully review the soil survey to understand the current grade, slope and composition of the land. We study the current movement of water through the property, natural or via artificial drainage. And both environmental regulations and BMP (Best Practice Management) compliance are assessed to learn any limitations that affect the land.
Once we’ve designed your leveling project, we incorporate laser and GPS technologies to achieve optimal results. Be it high-precision grading or general leveling, Harplyn brings the experience and resources necessary to get the job done.
Throughout our region, leveling is common for most lands used for vegetable row crops, citrus, strawberries, blueberries, sugarcane, sod and turfgrass (i.e, St. Augustine, Bermuda, Zoysia, Bahia, etc.)
