Micro-Jet Irrigation Systems
Micro-jets represent a low-volume, low-pressure irrigation system that emit a fine spray or mist in a circular or semi-circular pattern. Coverage is limited to a small area, typically a 1-2’ radius. Spray angle, radius and flow can be adjusted to accommodate various plants.
These systems are helpful in controlling dust as well as cooling plant foliage. Likewise, they provide more distribution than typical drip systems with less clogging concerns. Micro-jets are most suitable for sandy or well-drained soils.
Micro-jets are most effective when water needs are highly targeted though systems are more susceptible to evaporation loss and wind.
Common applications include:
- Fruit trees
- Vineyards
- Flower beds
- Shrubs & hedges
- Potted plants in nurseries & greenhouses
